Defence minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated a global education initiative hosted by the world’s largest chain of schools, Lucknow-based City Montessori School (CMS).
Unveiled on Saturday, the ‘Global Policy Makers Conclave’ is the brain child of renowned educationist Dr Sunita Gandhi, President of Devi Sansthan (Dignity Education Vision International).
The Conclave was organised after a two-day MOOT (Massive Online Teachers’ Training), wherein educators from 40 countries and 24 Indian states participated.
In his address, Singh observed that MOOT programme for teachers had revolutionised the education domain and opened gateway for a bright future of the world’s children.
“It has been the government’s effort to ensure that education reaches every household. Dr Sunita Gandhi’s endeavour to make everyone educated is a bold step,” he said adding, with the help of ALFA (Accelerating Learning for All) technique, teachers could teach children and adults to read and write at a low cost without creating a carbon footprint.
The union minister said today we need to give a new dimension to education so that the pupils develop skills and express thoughts clearly.
At the Conclave, educationists narrated their success stories and discussed in depth new education system and the changes and innovations taking place in the global education landscape of the 21st century.

Meanwhile, CMS founder-director and noted educationist Dr Bharti Gandhi expressed her gratitude to the panel of educationists from India and abroad for their participation in the flagship event. The Hindi edition of MOOT will be held on Mar 14-15.
