Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has said the Union Budget 2025 will fuel India’s targets of becoming a $5 trillion economy and a developed nation.
“The Budget will act as an economic blueprint to position India as the world’s growth engine and to achieve the vision of a developed India, with the goal of transforming the nation into a $5 trillion economy,” Yogi remarked on the Union Budget tabled today in Parliament by union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
He said the Budget’s provisions for every section of society are poised to realise the concept of “Ramrajya.”
The Budget will prove to be all-encompassing, inclusive and development-oriented; meeting the hopes, aspirations and resolutions of ‘Amrit Kaal’ for 1.4 billion Indians, he added.
“Union Budget 2024-25 provides the economic blueprint for fostering an ‘aatma nirbhar’ (self-reliant) and ‘viksit Bharat’ (developed) India. It embodies the sacred spirit of Antyodaya and seeks to tap the country’s infinite development potential with a fresh vision of innovation,” he added.
Yogi pointed out the Budget provided Rs 1.52 trillion for the prosperity of farmers and the agriculture sector, and over Rs 3 trillion for women’s empowerment.
“The greatest beneficiaries will be the people of Uttar Pradesh, the country’s largest state… UP has been actively implementing the ‘Mission Shakti’ program since 2020. With the highest number of farmers residing in UP, the Budget will play a crucial role in their prosperity,” he remarked.
Meanwhile, he claimed the middle class received the biggest tax exemption, which had been a long-standing demand.
“The provisions for various sectors namely rural poor, farmers, youth, industry and the MSME sector will generate large number of jobs,” he added.
