To provide impetus to industrial growth for realising its $trillion economy goal, Uttar Pradesh is working on a strategy to prevent, mitigate and manage industrial disasters.

Under this roadmap, the state will engage experts to devise ways of mitigation and management of chemical, industrial, biological and nuclear disasters through a series of seminars and conferences.

In this sequence, the UP relief department is slated to host a one-day CBRNI Conference in Lucknow on March 7. It will discuss issues related to chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and industrial disasters due to the increasing urbanisation and industrialisation.

The Yogi Adityanath government has introduced new policies to attract industries, providing them various sops and subsidies.

Acknowledging these steps, prominent domestic and international companies have evinced interest in investing across an array of sectors in UP.

UP revenue principal secretary P Guru Prasad said the Lucknow conference will focus on reducing the chances of industrial, chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear disasters and measures to address any kind of potential threats.

UP relief commissioner G S Naveen Kumar said in view of the constant risk of industrial, chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear disasters, the state is on alert to deal with potential threats.
