The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur has started its placement season 2022-23 on a high with offers pouring in from top notch domestic and global recruiters.

At the end of Day 1 on Thursday, a total of 519 offers were made to students with the highest domestic package standing at Rs 1.9 crore.

According to the Institute, 33 offers of Rs 1 crore and above have so far been received. So far, a total of 72 international offers have also been received by IIT Kanpur this season, as compared to 47 international offers received during last year.

The placements season comprised 207 PPOs (pre-placement offers) offered, while a total of 488 students secured jobs through the acceptance of PPOs and placement offers.

Top headhunters and recruiters included the likes of Capital One, SAP Labs, Rakuten Mobile, Enphase, Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Company, McKinsey & Company, Square Point Capital etc.

Last year, the highest packages at the end of Phase I of placement season 2021-22, were US$ 287,550 for international and Rs 1.2 crore for domestic.

“We’re delighted with the number of offers that have come at the start of the placement season 2022-23. The overall uptick in packages offered and new recruiters joining in signifies the growing trust recruiters have on IIT Kanpur. We are confident of yet another successful season as we progress,” IIT Kanpur director Prof Abhay Karandikar said.

IIT Kanpur was established on November 2, 1959 by an Act of Parliament. The institute has a sprawling campus spread over 1,055 acres with a large pool of academic and research resources spanning across 19 departments, 22 centres, and 3 interdisciplinary programs in engineering, science, design, humanities, and management disciplines.
