Uttar Pradesh has witnessed a marked improvement in the state unemployment rate in recent years.
According to the Periodic Labor Force Survey (PLFS) report, the national unemployment rate, which was 6.1 percent in 2017-18, has decreased to 3.4 percent in 2022-23.
Similarly in UP, the state unemployment rate of 6.4 percent in 2017-18 has dwindled to 2.6 percent in 2022-23.
In six and half years, the UP government has provided over 600,000 government jobs to empower youth by issuing appointment letters under Mission Rozgar.
Moreover, the Yogi government’s efforts have spurred investment in the private sector and the creation of new job opportunities, a senior state official noted.
UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath has facilitated more than 150,000 jobs in the state police department alone.
