Deepak Guptara, one of India’s most respected sugar sector leaders, has been conferred with ‘Excellence Award 2023’ in recognition of his contribution towards development and modernisation of the sugar domain.
The award was given recently by the National Sugar Institute, Kanpur, which functions under the union ministry of food & public distribution.
A post graduate in management, Guptara currently is the secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Sugar Mills Association (UPSMA), which is the industry interface of India’s largest sugarcane, sugar and ethanol producing state.
He is also the secretary of the UP Sugar Mills Cogen Association. Guptara started his sugar industry sojourn with Dhampur Sugar Mills Limited, where he headed the consumer marketing vertical.
