Uttar Pradesh will train 80,000 girls from 746 Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) in financial literacy and digital skills.
This training will be available for free on the online ‘Passport to Earning (P2E)’ platform in collaboration with UNICEF.
The girls will earn certificates after the training, which is aliged with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020.
This initiative will not only connect girls with practical education but also make them self-reliant.
The training will equip girls in making financial decisions, understanding savings and investments; loan management andidentification of financial irregularities; using digital tools like Excel and PowerPoint etc.
By May 20, each school will select a nodal teacher. Online orientation for these teachers will be held during May 24-25.
By June 25, nodal teachers will complete their training, and by July 25, all girls will have their login credentials prepared.
Later, the girls will complete the financial literacy course and receive certificates by September 10.
UNICEF and Samagra Shiksha will provide technical support at every stage, while district coordinators and wardens will regularly monitor the program.
The training program is accessible on the online platform up.my.p2e.org, featuring videos, exercises and assessments.
The financial literacy course consists of 12 chapters, and the digital skills course has 8 chapters. Each course lasts approximately 10 hours.
