To fuel its ambitious $trillion agenda, the Yogi Adityanath government 2.0 in Uttar Pradesh will showcase ‘Brand UP’ before a bevy of international buyers and investors.
At the proposed UP International Trade Show (UPITS) 2025, the state will pitch 12 sectors viz. MSME, agriculture & allied industries, energy, environment, health, education, electronics, defence, tourism, transport, electric vehicles (EV) and Finance.
The 3rd edition of the mega UPITS 2025 is scheduled during September 25-29 in Greater Noida.
“To propel the state’s ‘Vocal for Local’ vision, the UPTIS will promote exports and connect local producers with global buyers, and cement UP’s position on the global investment map,” a senior government official said.
In the UPITS 2024, the UP government had roped in Vietnam as the partner country, while buyers from 72 countries spanning Europe, Africa, North America, Latin America and Oceania participated in the five-day fair.
Meanwhile, the Yogi government has tasked 35 departments for planning the event to fuel the socioeconomic agenda.
The proposed event will feature 48 stakeholders exhibiting 12 categories in a massive 50,000 sq meter space, highlighting UP’s growing stature as a hub for trade, investment, innovation and cultural heritage.
Key industrial development authorities like UP State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA), Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA), Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) and UP Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) will also participate.
Other participating departments comprise Invest UP, MSME, agriculture, energy, electronics, health, tourism, food processing, dairy, animal husbandry and Khadi.
The prime focus will be on the MSME sector since it is a major job creator and contributes immensely to the industrial output and exports.
As such, more than 30 percent of the exhibition area will be dedicated to the MSMEs alone.
Moreover, Geographical Indication (GI)-tagged and One District One Product (ODOP) products from UP will also be showcased at the UPITS 2025.
Local food and artisan products such as Agra’s petha, Malihabad’s mango, Moradabad’s brassware, Banarasi sari, Bhadohi carpet and Lucknow’s famed chikankari will be pitched for a global audience.
The UP government is sanguine that UPITS will attract fresh investments and create employment at the local level.
Besides, potential business partnerships are anticipated in sectors such as health, food processing, electronics, defence manufacturing, agri-tech and renewable energy.
