With the rising influx of tourists in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi Adityanath government is taking steps to enhance the hospitality experience at the state’s tourist bungalows.
UP State Tourism Development Corporation Limited (UPSTDC) has initiated the process of upgrading and operating 14 major Rahi Tourist Tourist bungalows in line with international hospitality standards.
In total, 14 Rahi Tourist Rest Houses will be upgraded, offering 130+ rooms and various tourist amenities.
While tourists will receive world-class services, UPSTDC will benefit from increased revenue generation.
The process of appointing operators for rest houses, hotels and bungalows in Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, Bithoor (Kanpur), Ghazipur, Nawabganj, Jhansi, Bareilly, Badaun, Doharighat, Garhmukteshwar, Kannauj, Mirzapur, Shahjahanpur, and Rania (Kanpur Dehat) has begun.
To ensure seamless operations, operators will be appointed for all these Rahi Tourist Bungalows, maintaining global standards.
The initial lease period for this initiative will be 15 years, with a possibility of an additional 15-year extension, depending on the efficiency of operators and the maintenance of properties.
In 2024, UP registered a tourist inflow of 650 million, a growth of 17 percent from 480 million in 2023, according to the tourism department.
