Uttar Pradesh government is working tirelessly to ensure the safety of devotees and tourists at the upcoming Maha Kumbh 2025.
Apart from standard policing, the UP government is leveraging technology to further strengthen the security detail for the Kumbh Mela.
Central to this effort are AI-powered CCTV cameras, which will play a crucial role in ensuring safety of the pilgrims and tourists.
Over 2,750 CCTV cameras, including AI-powered, will be installed. Recently, UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the preparations for the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj.
Kumbh Mela Officer Vijay Kiran Anand said the CM instructed officials to complete all work by December 15.
AI-equipped cameras will be deployed at key locations. So far, 1,000 cameras have been installed at various sites, all connected directly to the control room for real-time monitoring.
Additionally, 80 VMD TV screens will be placed around the city to display important information.
With over 250 million devotees expected to attend the Maha Kumbh, robust security measures are being put in place, and a dedicated monitoring setup is being established.
A 50-seater call centre is also being set up for the Mela Helpline 1920, staffed by police officers round the clock to provide continuous updates to officials.
Parking arrangements are being made to accommodate over 500,000 vehicles with smart tracking and regulation mechanism thrown in place.
