The Uttar Pradesh government will hand over appointment letters for the recruitment of 60,244 new police constables on Sunday.
Union home minister Amit Shah will distribute the appoint letters to the selected candidates at a ceremony in Lucknow.
Under the Direct Recruitment 2023, a total of 48,196 male and 12,048 female candidates were selected for posting.
The process was conducted by the UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board.
The examination saw more than 4.8 million applications, including almost 1.5 million women candidates.
The written exam was conducted in 10 shifts over five days, and the OMR sheets were scanned under CCTV surveillance.
The results were declared in record time, with 174,000 candidates qualifying for the next stage.
The final list of 60,244 selected candidates was released on March 13.
The Yogi Adityanath government has not only focused on the recruitment but also strengthened the training infrastructure in the state.
Meanwhile, all selected candidates are undergoing high-tech training before posting.
