To expand the state’s green cover and preserve environment, the Uttar Pradesh government is planning to convert the roads into virtual green corridors!
To mark Van Mahotsav from July 1 to 7, the Yogi Adityanath govenment is launching a massive plantation campaign to boost the green cover.
In this regard, the UP Forest Department will plant almost 11.4 million saplings along roadsides across 75 districs of the state.
In fact, the Yogi government has set an ambitious monsoon plantation target of 350 million trees during the current 2025 season.
Meanwhile, more than 520 million saplings have been prepared in 2,586 nurseries across UP as a prelude to the campaign.
Additionally, UP Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) will carry out the plantation of 250,000 saplings along expressways to further the state’s green agenda.
The campaign is being conducted in consort with different departments, showcasing a coordinated effort to expand UP’s forest cover and promote ecological sustainability.
