Uttar Pradesh is setting up more than 2,700 smart classrooms across the state to promote digital education.
Of these, about 1,780 smart classrooms have already become operational so far.
The Yogi Adityanath government will invest a total of Rs 325 crore on such smart classrooms.
The smart classrooms will not only connect students with modern technology but also prepare them for the future, UP principal secretary, urban development department, Amrit Abhijat said.
The novel initiative is funded under various government schemes. It will be beneficial for students hailing from economically weaker sections.
Of late, there has been a noticeable improvement in the state students’ attendance and enrollment in government schools in the urban areas since the campaign began in 2022.
As a result, the enrollment rate in government schools has climbed to 60 percent, approximately 15 percent higher than the national average.
