To promote forthcoming Prayagraj Mahakumbh 2025, Uttar Pradesh Tourism organised ‘Mahakumbh 2025 Prelude’ on Friday at Ashoka Hotel in New Delhi.
The event provided a glimpse to the spiritual essence of Prayagraj, the host city for the upcoming Mahakumbh 2025.
Union Minister of Tourism and Culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and UP Minister of Tourism and Culture Jaiveer Singh were present apart from ambassadors and high commissioners from several countries.
The event served as a curtain-raiser to the world’s largest spiritual gathering, scheduled to be held during a 45-day calendar starting January 13 to February 26, 2025.
It highlighted the cultural, spiritual and infrastructural preparations underway for this iconic gathering, which is expected to draw 400 million devotees from across the globe.
Shekhawat emphasised India’s unique spiritual heritage and invited global tourists to experience the transformative power of Mahakumbh.
“It is an ancient celebration of India’s rich and diverse culture and humanity. I extend an invitation to participate in this monumental event that symbolises the spirit of global unity and cooperation that is much needed in today’s geopolitically turbulent times,” he noted.
“Mahakumbh 2025 is not just a spiritual gathering but a rare alignment that embodies India’s philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (world is one family). It will be a monumental event where diversity converges into unity,” Singh observed.
He invited international visitors to witness the grandeur, which will not only showcase India’s cultural depth but set new global benchmarks in religious tourism.
The Yogi Adityanath government is building a gargantuan 4,000-hectare ‘tent city’ in Prayagraj to host the visiting pilgrims and tourists next year.
