Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel today inaugurated ‘Craftroots’ Lucknow Exhibition 2025, which celebrates exquisite Indian craftsmanship.
Craftroots is organised under the aegis of Ahmedabad-based Gramshree, which was established in 1995 by Patel to empower women and facilitate their upliftment.
The five-day Exhibition, during October 10-14, features artisans from across Indian states.
Gramshree’s head Anarben Patel said since 2008, Craftroots has been promoting India’s traditional and cultural art forms while providing a global platform to artisans, who have preserved handicrafts for generations.
The organisation – associated with over 35,000 artisans – aims to raise awareness about handicrafts and give India’s folk arts international recognition.
So far, Craftroots has organized 77 exhibitions across various metro cities in India as well as countries like Dubai, USA and Singapore, organization’s trustee Leenaben Rawal said.
This year, the Exhibition showcases 100+ artisans representing 22 states.
The visitors will witness live demonstrations of traditional crafts such as Pattachitra (Odisha), Lac Bangles (Rajasthan), Glass Artwork (Uttar Pradesh), and Miniature Paintings (Rajasthan).
