Uttar Pradesh is the largest beneficiary of the tax devolution announced by the Narendra Modi led central government.
Yesterday, the Centre disbursed Rs 178,173 crore in tax devolution to the different states.
Per the list of funds released by the union finance ministry, UP received the largest share of almost Rs 32,000 crore.
The central government’s allocation is intended to bolster the economic stability of states ahead of the festive season.
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the ‘timely’ support.
In his post on the social media X, Yogi thanked @narendramodi and @FinMinIndia for the timely release of Rs 31,962 crore to UP as part of tax devolution.
“This advance installment will significantly boost our festive season preparations and accelerate development and welfare initiatives across the state. Together, we are building a stronger and more prosperous Uttar Pradesh,” his post read.
