The religious town of Ayodhya, the mythological birthplace of Lord Ram, has netted development projects totalling Rs 32,000 crore under the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh.

The state is working dexterously to position Ayodhya as a model town on a global stage in terms of infrastructure development, religious tourism and spiritual centre.

Even before the consecration of Lord Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22, 2023, the Yogi government had laid out an ambitious roadmap for the temple town encompassing an array of projects worth nearly Rs 32,000 crore.

After taking over reins of UP government in March 2017, he prioritised the beautification of Ayodhya on a grand scale.

It gained further momentum post the 2019 Ram temple verdict by the apex court.

So far, significant progress has been made across key sectors, including roads, power, water supply, education, railway station, airport and employment.

Today, the roads and infrastructure of Ayodhya rival that of the metropolitan cities, while the restoration of temples is going on.

Ayodhya, a still evolving ancient city, is fast transforming as a magnet for devotees and tourists from across the globe, drawn by its blend of tradition and modernity.
