More than 47,000 students will receive degrees in different streams at the 22nd convocation ceremony of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow tomorrow.
AKTU, which is the nodal technical universirty of Uttar Pradesh, will award 39 gold, 27 silver and 25 bronze medals to meritorious students among the total 47,269 scholars studying in differnet institutions affiliated with the varsity.
Moreover, 46 students will receive their Doctor of Philosoply (Ph D) degrees at the hands of the chief guest, UP Governor Anandiben Patel, AKTU Vice Chancellor Prof J P Pandey told the media today.
To promote the culture of entrepreneurship and innovation, startup awards in six categories will also be given away.
The six categories include women-led startup award, best social impact startup award, best tech innovation startup award, accessibility award, sustainability champion and health innovation startup award.
He said for the eligibility of the women-led startup award, at least 25 percent ownership by a women promoter/director in the startup is mandatory.
The varsity has adopted a multi-pronged strategy to promote new age technologies and courses such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Internet of Things (IoT), drones, 3D printing etc to make the students employable per the requirement of industry and the fast changing jobs landscape.
So far, AKTU has forged alliances and partnerships with top tech companies such as Infosys, Google, HCL, IBM etc for the training and skilling of students and faculty members.
