Uttar Pradesh has estimated a congregation of 500 million pilgrims and tourists during the 45-day Maha Kumbh 2025 at Prayagraj.

This would roughly equal the combined population of the United States (US) and Russia!

Observing that Maha Kumbh symbolises the essence of Indian faith and spirituality, UP tourism and culture minister Jaiveer Singh said 500 million pilgrims and tourists were expected to arrive from across the globe between January 13 and February 26.

To provide a holistic experience to the pilgrims, the Yogi Adityanath government has introduced special tours of a ‘spiritual triangle’ connecting Kashi (Varanasi), Ayodhya, and Prayagraj.

Meanwhile, Maha Kumbh will host a congregation of artists, featuring Padma Shri and Padma Vibhushan recipients of diverse languages and dialects.

UP tourism and culture principal secretary Mukesh Kumar Meshram said comprehensive arrangements have been made for the accommodation, travel, and convenience of devotees.

“A dedicated website and app have been launched to provide vital information. A Chatbot service has been introduced for people seeking instant answers to frequently asked questions,” he added.

For assistance related to digital frauds, a cyber-police station has also been launched at the Maha Kumbh city.

A parking facility for half-million cars and extended ghats spanning 12 kilometres has been established.

The cultural programmes will be held at the grand Ganga Pandal with a capacity of 10,000 people, along with 20 smaller stages across Prayagraj with a capacity of 1,000-2,000 people at a time.

Cultural events, Yagyashalas, display of One District One Product (ODOP) products, regional handicraft products and curated tours of Akhadas and Kalpvasis experience will also be provided.

An eight minute helicopter joyride, priced at Rs 3,000 per person, has been introduced. Dome styled luxury tents have been set up to offer a mesmerising sky view to visitors.
