With Uttar Pradesh estimating 500 million pilgrims and visitors for Maha Kumbh 2025, the state has planned to set up a mega 25,000 sq ft food court at the congregation area in Prayagraj.
The culinary hub will offer an array of vegetarian delicacies from all over the country.
UP tourism and culture minister Jaiveer Singh said the government is committed to providing the devotees with a divine and grand experience, focusing on facilities such as accommodation, travel, dining and cultural activities.
UP State Tourism Development Corporation (UPSTDC) is developing two state-of-the-art food courts on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
“Our aim is to celebrate the diversity of Indian cuisine while catering to the spiritual essence of the Maha Kumbh,” he said.
Moreover, a mammoth tent city is also being developed to accommodate pilgrims, and curated tourism packages introduced to highlight key destinations in UP such as Ayodhya, Kashi, Vindhyachal region etc.
Emphasising UP’s rapid stride in domestic tourism, he said the Yogi Adityanath government is now focusing to become a leading tourist destination for global tourists.
“Maha Kumbh 2025 will further cement our reputation by combining spirituality, culture, and hospitality,” Singh noted.
