The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur to launch a joint Postgraduate Program in Healthcare Management.
It aims to address the growing need for leadership in the healthcare industry by integrating management principles with advanced medical technology.
The agreement was signed by Prof Archana Shukla, IIM Lucknow Director, and Prof Manindra Agrawal, IIT Kanpur Director.
Prof Shukla said, “We are thrilled to partner with the IIT Kanpur to bring forth a program that combines the strengths of management and technology in addressing the complex challenges of the healthcare sector.”
She noted the joint program will foster innovative solutions that can significantly improve healthcare management in India and globally.
The PG will serve professionals from various fields, including healthcare workers and doctors in public hospitals.
The course is designed to blend expertise in medical technology with business administration, empowering participants to spearhead advancements in healthcare delivery and innovation.
Meanwhile, Prof Agrawal said, “The collaboration with IIM Lucknow signifies an important step in our mission at IIT Kanpur to reshape the future of healthcare education.”
The program is a key component of IIT Kanpur’s Gangwal School of Medical Sciences and Technology initiative, which seeks to enhance the integration of medical technology and innovation into our curriculum.
The joint program will collaborate closely with IIT Kanpur’s Centre of Excellence in Digital Health, working with international institutions critical to India’s healthcare landscape.
IIM Lucknow anticipates the partnership will enhance healthcare management education and research, helping to cultivate professionals capable of contributing to a stronger, more innovative healthcare system in India.
