Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani has said India is racing ahead to becoming a $25 trillion economy by 2050.
Delivering a keynote address on his entrepreneurial journey at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow last evening, Adani said the “global centre of gravity” will shift towards India and the Indian youth.
The comments have come in the backdrop of the ongoing tariff showdown with the US, and the disparaging comments made by US president Donald Trump about the state of the Indian economy.
“India is the canvas that is standing at the age of something extraordinary,” he said even as listed four factors working in favour of India viz. demography, demand, digital infrastructure and domestic capital.
“We are the youngest, hungriest and most ambitious working population on the planet,” he said.
“We are racing to become the 3rd largest economy by 2030 not just by consumig but by creating market for the world,” Adani noted.
He further said for the first time in our history, Indian money is backing Indian ideas with courage, conviction and an urgency never witnessed before.
“What i can state with confidence is that your most productive years will coincide with India’s most powerful years… You will not be looking at a $5 trillion or $10 trillion economy but you will be looking at an India that would be a $25 trillion powerhouse by 2050,” added.
Adani said in a world fractured by war and the hunger for dominance, “India stands tall by its restraint.”
“Where others impose India uplifts. Where others take India gives quietly consistently and with a dignity. No nation can play this moral high ground with the authenticity of India,” he added.
Adani called upon the future managers to take risks and tread the path less beaten to make a mark for themselves and the country.
When the world asks, where the future is being built, your answer should be here in India, he said exhorting the IIM Lucknow students.
