The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Zynetic Electric Vehicles Charging Private Limited to promote the innovation and deployment of advanced AC and DC chargers.

Zynetic is at the forefront of creating sustainable, high-performance charging solutions for the EV ecosystem in India.

IIT Kanpur and Zynetic will combine their strengths in research, academic exchange, and consultancy to tackle pressing challenges in EV charging technology.

The joint efforts will focus on critical areas such as power electronics, embedded systems, and the integration of artificial intelligence(AI) and machine learning (ML) for predictive maintenance.

By leveraging IIT Kanpur’s research capabilities and Zynetic’s industry expertise, the collaboration aims to develop next-generation EV chargers to cater India’s rapidly growing EV market.

Prof Manindra Agrawal, IIT Kanpur Director, said the partnership is an example of how academia and industry can work together to develop EV infrastructure and help India achieve its green goals.

“The government’s goal of achieving 30 percent of new vehicle registrations being EVs by 2030 will require a massive charging ecosystem to cater 80 million EVs. This collaboration will enable IIT Kanpur to contribute to India’s energy goals and support the global movement towards a more sustainable future,” he noted.

Harshvardhan Tiwari, Founder & CEO of Zynetic Electric Vehicles Charging, said, “This collaboration aligns perfectly with our mission to drive sustainable transportation in India and enables us to push forward innovative solutions for the EV ecosystem.”
