The Yogi Adityanath government is actively advancing the vision of ‘Environmentally Conscious and Industrially Capable Uttar Pradesh’ by implementing sustainable water management practices in key industrial areas.

UP SState Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) is spearheading the initiative to promote a ‘Green Industrial’ model.

Through Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs), Waste Water Treatment Plants (WWTPs), and Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs), the Authority is ensuring wastewater is purified and reused, promoting both environmental protection and industrial efficiency.

With UPSIDA CEO Mayur Maheshwari at the helm, UP is witnessing the rollout of cutting-edge water purification and reuse projects across key industrial zones.

The Surajpur WWTP (Gautam Budh Nagar) is being upgraded to SBR technology with a capacity of 6 MLD at a cost of Rs 899 lakh, targeted for completion by June 2026.

Similarly, the EPIP Kasna WWTP (3.6 MLD) is being upgraded with SBR technology at a cost of Rs 6.78 crore.

The Loni STP in Ghaziabad, based on MBBR technology, is operating at full capacity (5 MLD).

Meanwhile, the CETP Loni plant dedicated to dyeing and textile waste is set for a major upgrade — from 6 MLD to 16 MLD — with a Rs 42 crore DPR already prepared.

UPIDA is preparing to reuse treated water coming out of water treatment plants in industrial units for cooling, flushing, gardening and road washing.

Separate infrastructure for recycled water is being built to strengthen reuse network. UPSIDA also plans to establish reuse network in all industrial areas.

Aligned with the vision of ‘Zero Waste – Maximum Reuse’, UPSIDA is committed to maximizing the utilisation of industrial water and resources.

As part of this effort, treated water from purification plants is being reused, and dedicated pipeline infrastructure is being developed to supply recycled water to industrial units.

UPSIDA is integrating solar energy solutions into water purification plants and industrial areas.

Rooftop solar panels are being installed at plant sites, leading to a significant reduction in energy costs and carbon emissions. This marks a major step towards making UPSIDA’s operations energy self-sufficient and environmentally sustainable.

UPSIDA’s holistic approach is giving shape to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision of ‘Clean Water, Clean Industry’ and ‘Energy Self-Reliance’.

Through this, the Authority is ensuring sustainable industrial development, environmental responsibility, pollution control and efficient resource conservation across industrial areas.
