Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has likened UP as leader of India’s digital revolution and said the state was emerging as a model for ‘New India’.

Addressing the ‘Ashwamedh-Elara India Dialogue 2022’ virtually from his official residence on Monday, Yogi said UP has emerged as a leader in data collection while 45 percent of the manufacturing of mobile components in India was done in the state.

Speaking on the topic of ‘Uttar Pradesh: Model State for Future India’, he said the state possessed limitless possibilities and offered growth opportunities in all sectors.

“UP now has rule of law. A dedicated single window system ‘Nivesh Mitra’ has been developed offering an array of services to improve ease of doing business. Besides, 500 reforms have been made in labour and investor regulation. About 1,400 compliances of 40 departments have been rescinded,” the CM added.

To increase investment, he said, the state was working on a new industrial policy while many reforms have been effected in terms of land bank.

“To develop world-class infra in UP, Eastern and Western Dedicated Freight Corridors are being built. Currently, there are 13 expressways in the state, of which 6 have been completed and 7 are in process. Over 25 airways are being developed for seamless air connectivity,” Yogi said.

Furthermore, he pointed out UP accounted for 26 percent share in the domestic mobile phone manufacturing.

“The state has received a large number of investment proposals in data centres. In addition, to attract global investment, the state government will organise a mega UP Global Investor Summit in January 2023,” he said.

Underlining that UP is developing as a stronger economy, the CM said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target of making India a $5 trillion economy; and that being the most populous state, UP must contribute by becoming a $trillion economy by 2027.

During 2017-2022, different projects worth Rs 3.44 trillion were completed in UP, which created almost 1.5 million jobs, he added.
