The Yogi Adityanath government 2.0 will partner top tech and IT giants to enhance the employability skills of the youth in Uttar Pradesh.
The proposed partnership will entail improving the education system and making the youth more employable through advanced training and pedagogy.
For this purpose, the state plans to collaborate with reputed blue chip entities like Tata Technologies, HCL Technologies, Tech Mahindra, IBM etc.
“The UP department of Vocational Education and Skill Development has chalked out a plan to collaborate with these companies with a view to assess the domestic and global needs of employers,” a state government spokesperson said here today.
The assessment will help the state to devise a strategy to overcome such hurdles to enhance the employability matrix of the youth to cater the specific market demand and create avenues for better opportunities.
UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath has already affirmed that the dream of self-reliant India could be realized only if the students are trained directly by the industry.
The department will work on the modernisation of 50 industrial training institutes (ITI) with the help of Tata Technologies under its flagship 100-day plan. It incorporates using the latest technology and modern equipment for training the youth.
Besides, the government will prepare the youth for the IT sector jobs. Nearly 10,000 youth are estimated to be trained and subsequently employed in the IT sector with the help of companies like HCL Technologies. The students will receive honorarium during on-job training.
IIT Kanpur to groom military hardware industry
In addition, the Yogi government’s thrust is on the health sector. The state plans to partner Tech Mahindra for customised training in new age health sector courses to augment the quality of services in hospitals and to tackle pandemic like situation.
