The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur, through its cybersecurity Technology and Innovation Hub (C3iHub), is launching a Cybersecurity Skilling Program to cater the growing landscape of cyberspace and security.

The program is supported by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India under NM-ICPS Mission, along with C3iHub-incubated startups Threat Guardians and Workers Union Support, as the implementing partners.

It aims to provide learners with a deeper understanding of the technical basics of cyberspace and cyber issues, introduce real-time cybersecurity techniques and methods, and focus on the models, tools, and techniques for enforcing security.

The launch ceremony will take place on Apr 26 amid the presence of Vijay Sampla, Chairperson of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes.

“The launch of this Cybersecurity Skilling Program will pave the way for an immersive learning experience for students, professionals and enthusiasts. We have tried to cover the crucial aspects of cybersecurity comprehensively in the program, and are hopeful that it will help build a robust workforce,” said Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Project Director at C3iHub, IIT Kanpur.

The Cybersecurity Skilling Program is targetted at students and professionals to gain knowledge and expertise in this rapidly growing field. SC/ST candidates will be able to avail the program for free.

The program comes with a combination of deep academic rigour and intense practical approach, which will allow participants to master the required skills and build world class expertise.

The course covers system security, malware analysis, network security, cryptography, and IoT security. It is a fully online program providing students with both fundamental knowledge and hands-on experience. An integral part of the training is customised labs at every student’s desk through the cyber range.

The online mode of the Cybersecurity Skilling Program will make it accessible to learners from anywhere in India. The duration of the program is 8 weeks (6 hours per week) and will include live sessions, online assignments, and hands-on exercises. Upon completion of the program, learners will receive a certificate from C3iHub, which will add value to their professional profile.

C3iHub is funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems.
