Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday launched a mega campaign to crowdsource ideas for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) manifesto ahead of the 2022 state assembly polls.
Titled ‘UP Number One’, the crowdsourcing campaign solicits suggestions from the public for incorporating in the party’s election manifesto, which the BJP terms as ‘Sankalp Patra’ (pledge document).
After the launch, Yogi said the suggestions would help UP in achieving its goal of becoming a trillion dollar economy in near future. The saffron party would set up 30,000 ‘akansha peti’ (aspiration box) in all the 403 assembly constituencies of the state to allow people to drop in their written suggestions.
Moreover, the masses could also chip in with suggestions over email, WhatsApp and the party’s official website. They can also submit ideas through voice recording.
“We have fulfilled all the promises made in the 2017 ‘sankalp patra’ and positioned UP among the leading states in the country,” the CM said adding his government had extricated UP from the socioeconomic abyss witnessed during the previous regimes.
Meanwhile, BJP also launched the party’s anthem calling for ideas and suggestions. The anthem video incorporates vibrant footage of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, temple town of Ayodhya and the recently redeveloped Kashi Vishwanath Dham in Varanasi. It exhorts the youth, women and even children to come up with their suggestions.
